  • Barry StarkManaging Director, Commercial and Property Law Adviser

    Admitted to practice in South Africa in 1981 and WA in 1988, Barry has sound local experience gained from providing commercial legal services and solutions to a broad spectrum of clients, ranging from small businesses to listed companies. Prior to commencing Capital Legal, he was a principal of both small and medium sized legal practices. Barry's main areas of practice are general commercial law, business structures, sales and purchases, due diligence work, property law and leasing, and franchising, with a focus on facilitating the growth and development of his clients' commercial property and leasing interests.

  • Tom LawrenceSolicitor

    Tom has a Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Business (Accounting and Information Systems) and a Master Degree in Taxation. He has over 15 years of experience providing commercial and management advice to a diverse range of businesses. He has a wealth of experience in commercial transactions, business strategy, proactive planning, business sales and acquisitions, commercial disputes, estate and business succession planning.

  • Elisia GiardinaProperty Law and Wills and Probate Solicitor

    Elisia has been admitted to practice in WA for over a decade and is experienced in all areas of Property Law, including the acquisition and disposal of residential and commercial properties.

    She has extensive experience in assiting clients with contract drafting, negotiation, due diligence, settlement of sale and the purchase of residential and commercial properties.

    She also provides advice to her clients in relation to wills, estate planning, including the preparation of Enduring Powers of Attorney and Enduring Powers of Guardianship and applying for grants in, and winding up of, deceased estates.

  • Julie GrantSolicitor

    Julie practices in the areas of employment law and commercial litigation supporting businesses and individuals to navigate the complex legal landscape.

    Julie advises businesses on employment and industrial relations issues. Julie has experience in drafting, negotiation and due diligence in relation to contracts, enterprise bargaining agreements, policies and procedures, workplace investigations, transfer of business and commercial matters. Julie focuses on helping businesses to make the most of their human capital by developing smart workplace practices that support business success. Julie regularly advises clients on how to deal with employee disciplinary and performance matters and how to avoid and manage unfair dismissal, adverse action and other employee claims.

    Prior to commencing her legal career, Julie worked in marketing where she gained a broad understanding of the commercial realities businesses face on a daily basis. This experience is drawn upon when Julie acts for clients in commercial litigation matters to achieve the outcomes our clients want and need. Julie provides advice on commercial disputes as well as disputes involving private individuals and their businesses.

    Tom graduated from Murdoch University with a Bachelor of Laws in 2015. After earning his stripes through the successful completion of his articles of clerkship with Capital Legal, he was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Western Australia on 3 April 2017.

  • Sonia WileCapital Legal Practice Manager

    Sonia has worked in the legal profession for over 20 years, commencing as a legal secretary and advancing to Practice Manager. Sonia now manages all aspects of the Capital Legal practice and ensures that a high quality of customer service and administration is experienced by all Capital Legal clients.

    Sonia also works closely with all Capital Legal employees to keep the day to day running of the business smooth and efficient, as well as ensuring the company’s staffing, equipment, and organisational needs are met.

    Sonia’s extensive experience in legal administration has provided her with a solid understanding of legal matters and associated legal practice requirements. As the Practice Manager of Capital Legal, Sonia provides a friendly and knowledgeable point of reference for all Capital Legal clients and contacts.
